Today in class we went over the Simple Present and Present Progressive verbs, as well as the Frequency Adverbs. Examples: Simple Present: Do you cook in your kitchen? Present Progressive: Are you cooking in your kitchen tonight? The students split up into groups of two and had picture cards. Based on the items on their cards, they asked each other questions in simple present as well as present progressive. Attached is a link to the Power Point slides we used in class, which are great aides in explaining the rules and showing pictures, graphs, as well as practice exercises. Please feel free to browse through the slides as often as you want or need to in order to properly understand the rules. Hello class,
It was such a pleasure to meet you all. Barry and I are anticipating a great summer filled with learning activities to improve your English. Today, we focused on speaking and listening skills by working in groups. This is a great way to get your mind thinking in English. Thank you for asking so many good questions today! We know that prepositions can be challenging, but this is something we will be working on throughout the semester. Also, your introductions were very helpful for us to determine the pace of the class and the material we will cover during the semester. You are truly a great group! I hope to see you all next Wednesday. Meanwhile, keep practicing what you learned today! Don't forget that this forum is a great tool to ask your questions and stay in contact with us and your fellow classmates. Have a great week! Nelly |
